Vertical channelling. The pattern only appears under top light.

The back is divided into vertical channels. Under flat light the surface reads plain; under a downlight the channels cast and the piece gains depth. The armchair carries a taller back with tighter channel spacing.
Form
Channels run at 11 cm on the sofa and 8 cm on the armchair. The difference is deliberate — equal spacing looked coarse on the smaller frame.
Specification notes
Usually ordered as tan with cream. Channelling reads best on flat-surface fabrics; heavy chenille softens the effect.
